A few friends and I worked on a project last year that might give you some ideas for yours. We called it Queso, but same idea. Use the Atom Publishing Protocol to store documents, add versioning, convert the Atom entries into RDF using AtomOWL, query the entire set of graphs using SPARQL and more importantly leave most of the extensibility to RDFa + XHTML in the atom:content elements of the entries.
