Yes, sorry: if you want to add a postcode to the search then you have to be in the UK. But if you’ve been indexed anyway (because you well-known, presumably), and you just give your name then you will get a score. For example, Barak Obama is listed despite not having a UK postcode.
There are reportedly eleven John Cowans, although the list you get when you search for them doesn’t include any (if you see what I mean).
